I heart Paul!

He's never completely 'in of it' if you ask me: always full of excitement. What a delightful man.

Re: "I found it very unconvincing, will there be a re-cut?"

Personally I just thought the old guy was incredibly rude and disrespectful. I really detested Inbred last year but I vote with my wallet in so far as I won't buy it and if anyone asks me about it I will tell them how much I disliked it. However I wouldn't show that level of disrespect to Mr Chando...

Re: "I found it very unconvincing, will there be a re-cut?"

I remember Uwe Boll vs an audience member after Seed and Postal. That's the most tense/bemusing moment I've witnessed, as the gentleman refused to sit back down, he seemed very angry from having to watch the films.[/quote] I just saw a few films in 2007 rather than the whole thing so unfortunately I...

Re: Fright Fest 2012 Rumour Mill

This Tulpa rumour.... I'm pretty sure at the end of the film they all came on stage, no questions being asked to them, but the director came on and introduced each of the actors including his wife!!! or was I just drunk?! Hey GeorgeCaplin! You were not drunk my good old matey- they were definitely ...

Fright Fest 2012 Rumour Mill

One of the fascinating things about a festival of this size, with rabidly enthusiastic fans and sometimes dotty guests, is the amount of hearsay and rumour that is carried along through the buzz of the weekend. So, a week on, just for fun, I thought it would be a real blast to share whatever scraps ...

Re: Abortion short film

The first time I read this, I read 'cork' as 'cock'! Anyway, amusing mis-readings aside, I don’t really get your point Steven. Are you really comparing your unfortunate case of the runs to the misery and horror of a self-administered abortion? I would like to imagine that no subject is beyond the p...

Nah, not at all bump3r1- you always seem like a laid back matey on these boards.

There were many mysteries surrounding the q&a though. The Tulpa conspiracy I find VERY intriguing.

Re: Abortion short film

Marko- stop! You're giving the director of Hidden in the Woods ideas! In fairness though, I do think that the subjects you mentioned above could well make for interesting and captivating films. Why not? I suppose you could well have written something like, ' Lets watch a movie on how the Balkans con...

Re: "I found it very unconvincing, will there be a re-cut?"

I felt bad for the director Paul Hyett when he got asked that question, but since hearing that it was him who was on his phone talking and texting all throughout Tulpa I now don't feel bad for him one iota. I'm not sure why an actual director of a film showing at that festival felt it was OK to be ...

Re: Abortion short film

Sorry Marko darling, I know that you're a big bloke and all that, but I have to disagree. This was a highlight for me, in fact one of the strongest of the especially impressive selection of short films this year. I'm a little fascinated by the idea of family and pregnancy- one of the things that I ...

Re: Big Love To Alan, Ian, Greg & Paul But Seriously ....

Funnily enough one guy I was chatting to yesterday said that the 'Discovery' screen feels a lot more frightfesty these days, with the main screen seeming to having to show more bums on seats mainstream kind of films. I think next year I might investigate the discovery screen a lot more. Yes I was t...

Re: Chained

** Spoilers ** Superb. A real masterclass let down only a little by the twist ending, which doesn't ruin the film, merely knock half a point off the score. I just felt there was little indication or clues that the killer was the boy's uncle (nor did it explain why Rabbit didn't appear to recognise ...

Re: FF13 - Highlights

I can see where you are coming from with the phones, but I think this is obviously more for the single screening ticket holders/newbies. I suppose you could argue that it can create a 'them and us' attitude in the weekend/day/regulars minds that we are somewhat 'better' than any average attendee - ...
