Re: FrightFest 2016 lineup announced

I'll be doing a one-day ticket this year. Just trying to decide which day to go for. Currently thinking of the Saturday just because of THE WOODS, but I think I need to research the other films. I don't want to end up going along to the day that has all the 'We'll allow you to show {good film} prov...

FrightFest 2016 lineup announced

Very happy that THE WOODS and 31 are included, but very disappointed that DON'T BREATHE isn't in the lineup which I thought would be nailed on. Overall, I'm 50/50 on the lineup, quite a few hyped up films from various other festivals that would suit FrightFest perfectly aren't included that I was re...

Re: Films for FrightFest 2016

Going to take a late guess and say Rob Zombie's '31' might feature. US release date is mid-September, can't find a UK release date anywhere but this might fit in to future release schedules.

Definitely off the cards, it's released on 8th July.

Re: Accommodation

Coming from Birmingham after having lived in London for the last 8 years and coming to Frightfest for the past 6 years. Literally was one of the highlights of my time in London.

First time going on my own too  but wouldn't miss it for the world.

Re: FrightFest has a new home for 2016

The toilet discussion amuses me (as a female). I went to FrightFest at Empire in 2013 and it was the only place I'd ever been to where there was no queue for the women's toilets but a queue for the men's  You were lucky then, I recall seeing both queues out of the doors and into the lobby on m...

Re: Films for FrightFest 2016

From all of the various Twitter updates this year sounds like it is going to be the best yet. I'm more than happy to put my faith in the picks by the staff, lots of films in previous years I would never have heard of or seen had it not been for Frightfest. I am secretly hoping DON'T BREATHE is on op...

Re: Accommodation

I booked my hotel before they changed the venue, so I'm staying at Easyhotel South Kensington. I'm coming from Australia so staying there a little longer than just FF and needed something cheap. Annoyingly no longer easy to get to the festival on the tube but there is a bus nearby. It cost me almos...

Re: Films for FrightFest 2016

I mentioned this one on the last page but here is the teaser for Adam Wingard's THE WOODS - released Sept 16th, nicely timed for Frightfest!

Re: FrightFest has a new home for 2016

Alan talked about either having the assigned seating from previous years, or the possibility of a convention-style festival, where there are no assigned seats and you just choose 25 films before you enter. I really hope they keep the allocated seating model. Last year I was so glad the discovery sc...

Hush

Such a shame that release schedules and deals didn't lineup with Frightfest for Mike Flanagan's Hush. Just watched this, would have gone down a storm at Frightfest! Very similar plot and vibe to 'You're Next' about a deaf woman stalked in her home by a masked killer. Written and directed by Mike Fla...

Re: Films for FrightFest 2016

Under the Shadow please! Supposed to be hella scary and the 'next big thing in horror' etc etc. But the premise of a haunting in Tehran sounds intriguing and good reviews from Sundance and on IMDB. I second this. Lots of good reviews, and the type of film that will take forever for a UK release so ...

Re: Films for FrightFest 2016

Surely DON'T BREATHE is nailed on for opening night? Released 26th August, opening night for Frightfest is the 25th. It seems to the the 'golden child' this year. Usually there is at least one film each year that get super hyped up and this seems to be it. I'd pretty much put my mortgage on it being...
