Re: Shockwave Darkside 3D
I was told at the fest( i wont say by who) that basically because they considered Banshee Chapter a success the year before they took on this film sight unseen. I could tell that he also thought it was a piece of shit. While this film is completely hopeless i dont think the kicking its getting woul...

Re: The Signal
They may as well have shown The Host. Seriously, this was on at the wrong festival and should have been left to Scf-Fi London.

Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts
Wolfcop was extremely poorly received at the Fantasia screening I attended. I didn't like it. Of the three you list (I have seen them all at other festivals) Dead Snow 2 is the jewel (Drownsman is good but watch that at home when the DVD arrives - Dead Snow 2 is the one to see with a FrightFest cro...

Re: Coffee question
I've always found that the queues in the cinema tend to be so long that it's quicker to get food atba shop or wherever, so Pret may not be a bad alternative.

Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts
I'd guess that it's only going to be shown on the one evening. Perhaps FrightFest will in fact be the sole showing anywaySeems to be more.common. Ie themakes of Iron Sky were unhappy when their UK distro agreed to a cinematic release and then only had one day (and may have been one cinema only as we...

Re: FrightFest 2014
Speculating on Frightfest films is one of my favourite pastimes. I keep an ever evolving list here. http://davidmalcolm.wordpress.com/2014/01/26/frightfest-speculation/ Will have to check out the ones I've not heard of before. I think there are somne definates on there, ie regular directors/produce...

Re: Sleepy Queue 2014 Discussion (Split from Q&A Thread)
In terms of the Discovery queue where it's one ticket per person, then pushing in is a very different matter. In terms of the other comments above - what is the difference between get tickets for a group and stragglers, if we're talking about people sitting next to each other? One reason why my frie...

Sleepy Queue 2014 Discussion (Split from Q&A Thread)
If there was a one ticket per person policy queue jumping would an issue. As it is I can queue from 6 and buy 3 tickets, so it does not matter whether my mates don't turn up or join me later. The first year I joined the sleepy queue well ahead of my mates or dutifully queud further back..Once I got ...

Re: What films do you want for FrightFest 2014?
I see that Horns has a UK release in October, so would tie in with FF. But I find it hard to take Potter seriously in any other film. Beautiful People looks good. It's not really FF related at all, but the director of Rare Exports has a new action-ish film that has been completed: Big Game. Samuel L...

Re: What does everyone think of the line up then?
Hammer of the Gods is one of the films that interests me the most. Limbs being hacked off by Saxon warriors?! Count me in. Anyway, people always seem to forget that many years have featured a decidely non-horror film (ie Korea gansgters, New Zealand stunt comedies, mountain climbers in Scotland, Sta...

Re: sleepy queue
Been to the sleepy queue three times. Turned up at 6:00am the first time and since then around 8:00am. Really cannot fathom why anyone would want to stay there from Friday - it really just means that everyone else feels the need to start turning up earlier.

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2013
I read on bloody disgusting that you're next is scheduled for a 23 Aug release date so surely this has to be the opening movie or atleast be shown on the thurs, I still think hatchet 3 has a good chance of opening the fest. 23/08 was the original date stated on IMDb as well, but it now says 30/08. ...
