Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015
I have now secured a pass, thanks to all who offered advice or information. This ticketing company was not up to the task, the site didn't seem to manage the queue properly, people got randomly kicked off and had to go back and queue for another hour or more and, without wishing to state the obvious...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015
I'm too scared to offer you advice. I got to the circle the first time through, back when I was a younger man. I didn't actually do anything, it just kicked me out to the back of the queue.

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015
It's also worth mentioning that last year everyone worked tirelessly to fix the problems caused by the ticketing glitches, so I'm not panicking yet.

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015
Frustrating, after an hour in the queue I got through, selected tickets, clicked to add to basket and it immediately threw an exception error and I've had to start again. Oh well, I guess this is my job now...

Re: FrightFest 2015 dates for you diary
It would be possible to create a Frightfest 'club' membership, would it not? People who are committed to the FF experience could pay an annual subscription part of which would be redeemable against tickets and passes and other events. They could be offered priority booking online which would prevent...

Re: Thoughts on FrightFest @ Vue so far..
In general, FF was very good at the Vue this year. A couple of things that could be helpful... As others have noted, it was a bit weird having screen numbers, screen names and Frightfest screen numbers. Maybe that's something we'll just get better at. I really missed the 'big board' at the entrance....

Re: BEST FILM of 2014
Three choices was agony. I didn't have room to add 'Life After Beth' to my selection. I think DS2 will be lots of people's favourite, but it'll also win lots of points by making the podium, for me it medalled, but didn't win gold.

Re: Lacking in horror this year?
Honestly I'd rather have a broader selection than risk opening the floodgates to a morass of horror jetsam, there's some really terrible stuff out there... The horror....... I've never been a Disco-lover, but it's not because of the selection, which looked superb this year, it's because I don't want...

Re: Starry Eyes
For me it was one of the hits of the festival. In a year when a lot of my favourites turned out to be satirical, darkly funny or just outright splatire this one was a proper dark horror tale which built tension a little unevenly but finally delivered a proper finale. Stunning lead performance and, e...

Re: Zombeavers
As soon as I saw the first Zombeaver I found I couldn't shake the thought that it should have been called 'Caddyshock'. Much fun.

Re: Turn off your bloody cigarettes!
I think that's the critical point. There doesn't need to be a special rule for e-cigs, they must just fit into the category of good manners. Once the lights go down we all bend every effort to be as unobtrusive as possible. We don't blame people for the occasional cough or sneeze, that's human biolo...

Re: Frightfest Thanks
Hear, hear. Frightfest is wonderful for many reasons and the joy of coming out of a great movie to discuss it with friends is only a little more fun than coming out of a bad movie to laugh about it with friends. Some of us have the opportunity to see lots of the films elsewhere but I always try to s...
Re: Alleluia
Very, very good. One of the films I really loved. Dark, engrossing and weird.

Loved the Magician segment, the rest was a bit mediocre and the wrapper was not good.

Re: Life after Beth
Brilliant! In almost any other festival this would be the standout comedy, but Housebound was so flawless that I have to give it the edge. Still, this was wonderful and the old guy saying 'I know attics' will never leave me, nor will the image of Aubrey Plaza on her back, attached to an oven, slowly...
