Re: 2019 Ticket info.

Good, it's OK, just wanted confirmation.

Let battle commence (in ~8 days).

The joys of being horrified

Too many horror films give us mere jump scares when what we want is real terror.

Someone on twitter invite Andrew Doyle to join us in August.

Sky Sharks - Zombie Nazis on flying sharks. With scenes filmed at Frightfest back in 2014 (or 2015?), and a lot of Frightfest hype, this seems to finally be complete as the makers brought it to this year's Cannes market.

...
For some reason I've convinced myself it was 2015.

Re: 2019 Ticket info.

Ian,

Will there be a booking fee as per previous year, say about 5% per ticket?

Re: Fantasy FrightFest Film Festival

Aside from the greatest hits of 20 years of FrightFest I'd like to nominate, in lieu of my actual list at this moment:

Tulpa - just for audience reaction/mood.

Re: The Duke Mitchell Party 2018

Thanks very much for that clear and convoluted reply, Evrim.

Also thanks to you, Alex and everyone else for your work in bringing the party to FrightFest. I'm glad you took the criticisms as trying to be constructive and not a slight on your work.

Till 2019 - because I can't not go.

Re: The Duke Mitchell Party 2018

I wasn't on about the participants on stage, I was on about the crowd, felt all rather cliquey, no spontaneity.

^the Blood libel reference What is/was the blood libel reference? The blood libel, as it stands within anti-Semitic propaganda says that Jews hunt, kidnap and murder gentile children to use their blood in food and drink. Given the nature of the film and the context of the puppets, it appeared to me...

Re: One Cut of the Dead

Anyway, about the film. Easily makes it into my Top picks of all the films I've ever seen at FrightFest. Yes, the 2nd act can drag but it paints characters and their motivations quite well and it is indeed the 3rd act that sets it apart. Perfect to see with a FrightFest audience and I'm sure will re...

Re: Possum

Disturbing in a way I feel only the British can do. Horror of the real kind, right down to dirty fingernails which always disgust me. Creepy and hollow in the way you want it to be but in the end not something I'd want to experience again. A good Q&A (AT THE END) of the film lead to some interes...

Re: The Golem

Indeed my lasting impression from this film as a small boy who somehow managed to act worse than any children that appeared in the Star Wars prequels.

It was entertaining enough to be fair, bit of a trim required and probably up the violence even more if I were to rate it higher than average.

Re: The Field Guide to Evil

When Alan warns beforehand that the credits are 20 minutes long, it doesn't exactly set up for a thrill ride. As individual stories I liked them but for some reason, along with the malfunction at the start eating into free time, I was narked by the anthology set up as I seemed to just hope that each...

Re: Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires

I liked this, though even though it flew by I did feel it went too long.

Great animation, good dialogue and characters and I was the right kind of buzzing drunk to enjoy this.

Re: Ravers

Didn't hate this as much as I thought I would having desperately wanted to see Book of Monsters instead of this having been put of by the premise. A nice spin on zombies and not too irritating characters, though I agree the accents were annoying. Still not a fan of junk science though, just can't su...
