I was a bit disappointed in all honesty after all the hype - but it is still worth seeing. The trailer was one of the best trailers I'd ever seen. But the film seemed to plod along at a slower pace. I thought the opening 5-10 minutes were great as well as the final 15-20 minutes but that period in-between focused too much on the family drama/anxiety and not enough on mythology/what exactly was lurking in the woods. Loved 'Black Phillip' though! Some very good performances by the young lad who played 'Caleb' and Ralph Ineson.

Best part for me, was the soundtrack. What a brilliant, ambient, haunting score. One of the best in recent memory.

Totally agree with the comments above but i enjoyed the film a bit more i think.

If you go in expecting a slow pace, slow build to an exciting end then you might enjoy.

soundtrack and acting is great and the lead actor was chris finch from the office !

it is certainly not mtv edit the death out of the screen and it is some what open to interpretation as to what is going on.

the dialogue was interesting as well as it was kind of shakespeare like or old english language i think and the image was presented in a square ratio which was different.

would recommend as intelligent horror.
