Yes puppet yes. Your bloody glee obsessed. I managed to watch it all, good characters and romantic story arc - shame so many of the numbers make me want to poor molten lava in my ears.

I am catching up on Heroes season 4 at the moment and its a fab return to form after the poxy season 3.
Thanks for the ride, sir.

Right, time to grab this thread by the scruff of its neck as I've been neglecting it (and the forum as a whole) in recent weeks.

First things first - after two highly enjoyable years I've reluctantly decided to draw my TV Eye column on Blog Central to a close, partly due to work commitments, partly due to the need to focus on developing my own website. My posts were getting more and more infrequent and I've been finding it difficult to make the time to write something every month.

However, I do hope to keep things alive on here a bit more regularly, so... here's a few thoughts on recent bits 'n' bobs...

Heroes, season 4: I just can't bring myself to watch it after such a disappointing season 3.

Being Human: Following on from Kevin's comments... I do think Russell Tovey is a fine young actor but his performance (or character of George rather) in the first episode was far too OTT and seemed very out of character. I like the show as a whole but am becoming increasingly annoyed by the character of Annie, I just don't think they thought the whole ghost concept through; maybe it's me but I just don't understand how she can be a ghost yet suddenly now everyone can see her and she's able to get a job in a pub??? And the 'comedy' scenes in the pub were just excruciating to watch. They'd have been better to make her a zombie... surely simpler?!

The Persuasionists: new sitcom on BBC2 with Adam Buxton and Simon Farnaby (Bunny And The Bull). Not even worthy of a pilot on BBC Three, the first episode was so poor I had to switch it off. Mind-bogglingly awful.

Wallander: loving the desolate tone to these crime dramas, it just feels really fresh with it being set in Sweden, and Branagh continues to do a fantastic job in the title role.

Glee: against my better judgement, and on Puppy's recommendation, I decided to give this a try... and you know what, it's infectious and I'm hooked. As is my normally cynical flatmate, to my even greater surprise. Really good characters, very funny in places, and a joy to watch.
First things first, stay calm.

Watch heroes!! it's a lot better than season 3... although the lack of Ali Larter this season has been disappointing.

Also The Good Wife starts on Channel 4 soon... Jan 25th, it stars Nurse Hathaway from ER and Mr Big from Sex and the City. It's Really good, I just downed season 1 in one day

Interesting characters and a great cast that works well together.... Interesting stories too. It's not at all what you think from the Channel 4 TV spots :)

New series of True Blood this week. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. The first series started off a bit crap I thought but by the end was brilliant. Strangely I find all the stuff directly relating to vampires a bit rubbish. It was better when it was Sookie and her friends and family, reacting to the vampire situations.

Also the last episodes of Survivors and Being Human. I wonder if there'll be a third series for either or both?
Bring her to me, you bum. I'll take care of business.

For those of us who have never seen BIG LOVE, I highly suggest getting the box sets... it's one of those shows that not many people have heard off but it's in it fifth year now and the story is still going strong. :)

TOP Show!

Heartily endorse Big Love, gets better and better with each new season. Although I almost didn't make it past the first four episodes of season one as Harry Dean Stanton's performance as the polygamist cult leader quite literally made my flesh crawl.

I LOVE Misfits, I thought it was a bit like Being Human - terrible premise, but it turned out to be really good.

I recomment Lizzie & Sarah to anyone who's a fan of Jam, Brasseye, Nighty Night etc. It's still on BBC iPlayer if you missed it, one of the darkest but funniest shows I've seen in a while.

Yeah, that was good - a one-off pilot (for now) with Jessica Haynes from Spaced.
