I've organised a Critics' Fortnight season at Oxford's only independent cinema, the Ultimate Picture Palace. We're hosting six Q&A screening with some of the nation's leading film critics, with each having been asked to select a formative film in their career journey.
For our first screening this Monday (7th) at 6:15pm, Catherine Bray (Film4, Variety) has chosen to show Michael Powell's groundbreaking British horror film, Peeping Tom (1960). It's set to be a really exciting screening, with this terrific film followed by what I can only imagine will be a lively Q&A discussing the film's infamous legacy (critics destroyed the film on release on the grounds of it being obscene).
This is your opportunity to see this horror masterpiece on the big screen, with the added bonus of a Q&A with a world-class film critic. I hope to see some of you there!
