Tucker & Dale vs EVIL

Post by jonbly »

9/10 - Ha ha! Oh, we so needed this after the Glass Man. Fun fun fun, although it started to run out of ideas a bit in the middle, perhaps. Best hillbilly-buddy-comedy-lovestory-horror of all time?

Loved it to bits so funny and well observed, lots of nice nods to the genre all over - its a lazy comparison but the best horror comedy since shaun of the dead
9/10
You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders, who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese.

Absolutely loved this.

It understood exactly what it was trying to do and excelled at doing it.

Not laughed so much at frighfest in a very long while.

This was brilliant from start to finish, the comedy was just about right and didn't go over board and didn't feel forced.

My only complaint would be that, given the title, we didn't get some supernatural elements (some Evil Dead style stop-motion demons would have been nice).

But never mind, it was great fun. Most "horror comedies" are more miss than hit, but this one hit the nail on the head.

Brilliant fun - laughs and gore aplenty! Goes to show that a horror/comedy done well can be a wonderful thing, it's just hard to do to this standard.

SPOILER:

Thought I was going to cry with laughter during the "wasp nest / chainsaw" scene!

Oooh yes another highlight for me.

Really enjoyed this film. Love the twist in scenes in horror films. It is the red necks who are the peaceful ones and the teenagers who are trying to kill the red necks.

Also you get a love interest for a red neck!

Will be getting this on DVD.

I'd already seen this before Frightfest so did try to encourage as many people around me as possible to stay and see it. It is a bloody brilliant film, I've just preordered my copy on dvd as it's due for release at the end of the month.

Brilliant film, funny without resorting to the kind of stupidity that date movie/epic movie/all that crap does :D
