Mmm not sure what to make of this film.

Starts off as mysterious sign on a back of a mirror, bumping people off and then ends up as pagan sacrifice. Not sure if I had micro snooze somewhere. Did not understand the ending. Planning to see this film again.

Hopefully get a better understanding.

I was really disappointed with Kill List; it didn't live up to the hype for me at all and I found the twist ridiculous; a bit Wicker Man meets Serbian Film

*** Spoilers ***

The film 'The Wicker Tree' should have been - this is like a spiritual successor to 'The Wicker Man', with a plot shift like 'From Dusk 'til Dawn'. Great intense sequences, a good rapport between the two main characters and a terrific nightmarish twist - although it won't please all, while a number of questions were left unresolved at the end. 9 / 10

I love this... and have major problems with it. It's one of those. Certainly a powerhouse of a movie with incredible performances and shit scary scenes of brutal terror... but i felt a bit let down by the many questions the ending raises... i prefer a more linear plot having gotten so emotionally involved in the hitman story. I want to know what went down in Kiev for starters.

Don't get the hype... the cast were great but we're saw this sorts shift in one film that was shown last year and the ending in another film that didn't get shown last year. :)

probably would enjoyed it more if it came subtitled :D

i kinda liked it, but when the director on the stage said sth, along the lines "yeah, we're gonna do the q&a, and you gonna ask what was going on, and i am not gonna help u with that" or similar, i though - oh yeah? you're so sure you did such a great movie? i turned me slightly negative towards the flick.

The jury's out on this one, def needs a second viewing.

Loved the first hour but not sure about that ending, it didn't seem to make any sense the way the couple reacted to what was going on.

Hoping that a second watch will resolve things but got a horrible feeling that its just been made with huge unresolved plot lines which feels like a cheat.

Whilst I really did enjoy this film, then ending did annoy me. Not so much the hunchback (presumably she'd been told, "kill your husband and we'll let your child live"), but the bit where he started shooting at the crowd - it was a stupid thing to do as there were more people than bullets! And then his buddy died far too easily, but not bothering to see if there were more naked people coming down the tunnel. All felt a bit forced. However I liked the ambiguity and the fact that it puzzled people so much.

I like it but kinda wish we didn't have the "horror" ending. I love a bit of ambiguity but I would have preferred a violent crime finale instead.

I too was left conflicted by Kill List. It had great script and acting and built up plenty of tension around the gritty hit man violence, but like many others, I'm not at all sure about the ending.

I feel like I should give it another watch to understand it better, but I'm not sure I missed anything- just didn't really get it.

Interesting that so many people were put off by the ending, I felt just the opposite!

I can't claim to "understand" the ending, but for me its sheer weirdness made the film - up to that point it was just a proficient but not particularly interesting thriller. I don't really care if it makes sense or not.

Most of it's a Danny Dyer remake of A Serbian Film minus the sex, and then it all goes a bit Wicker Man. I wanted to like it but I just don't get it.

I enjoyed it immensely, although I now regret not having the courage to ask a few pertinent questions during the Q&A, such as: -
- why do his victims thank him?
- who is he? (as in "does your friend know who you are?")
- what was actually going on?

Did it remind anyone else of Angel Heart?

I found the unsettling shifts in tone, style and genre in 'Kill List' to be it's greatest strengths. Sure, the plot was heavily indebted to the likes of The Wicker Man & Race With The Devil, but the slow building dread of some unknown evil at work behind the scenes; through the mark on the mirror and the dead cat to the way in which the victims apparently welcomed their own sacrifice - these elements were chilling because they hinted at a greater mystery which I am very glad was not neatly explained away at the film's climax.

I admit I struggled to engage with the film at first due to the fact that the lead character was such a loathsome prick. Ultimately I guess it was his animalistic qualities which led to him being chosen for the 'mission' although significantly it appeared that the act of saying 'sorry' to his friend, and in doing so recognising a need to repent in some way for the terrible things he had done, was what triggered the final stage of his descent into chaos.
