Stitches

Post by jonbly »

6/10 - Alas, this failed to either locate jonbly's funny bone or be scary, with any consistency. Ross Noble seems to have been restricted too much by the character he's playing.

I thought it was likeable enough. Some fine set pieces in the revenge department, and Mr Noble's delivery of those Kreugeresque "Punch lines" was admirable. Quite a gentle film. :-)

Worth attending because of Ross Noble's warm-up talk before the film started.
The 'bad clown' was no match for Wayne Gacey. This project was all played for laughs.
Silly in parts, but watchable.

I bailed through tiredness and the fact the last horror comedy I watched with a comedian in it was Lesbian Vampire Killers.

Nothing special but a fun and enjoyable late night film - Ross Noble was good in it and the evil clown cult was a very funny moment.

Looked a lot like a rip off of Mr Jelly from Psychoville but not nearly as funny, a feature length Mr Jelly film would have been much better than this imo.

Pefectly fine as a late night film.

Not having known who Ross Noble was before this festival found him to be a very funny guy,

The fact that this ended up being best of the day for me speaks volumes, not so much about this film as to what I thought of the rest of the films on the day.

So up for a Mr Jelly film.

They should have let Noble's clow ad lib and go a bit more mental, he seemed very restricted by the script.

This was a laugh and fine at midnight after a few drinks

A low calorie, late night slice of Noble. I agree that he seemed restricted by both character and script ( to be honest prior to his resurrection Stitches was such a broad strokes 'complete bastard' that I was concerned this could have gone all 'Lesbian Vampire' on our ass.) Thankfully the time honoured set piece deaths and dark puns worked much better than the opening scenes IMHO.

Wouldn't mind if someone were to give Noble the chance to reprise the roll with more freedom to take the character darker. More It with black comedy...

I enjoyed it a lot.

Played darker or for more laughs could have spoilt the film for what it was, but I felt it was highly entertaining and consistent all the way through.

Very amusing and very dark. Have to watch this again, when more awake.

Ross was class in this. But did kind of remind me of Tormented (2009).
