5/10 - well made, but deeply stupid. Music felt very manipulative.

Horribly over sentimental mawkish crap. Made me want to vomit.

No idea what this was even doing at frightfest.

Felt like a Stephen King tv movie knock off,

Complete rubbish.

This wasn't badly made, and the creature effects were decent, but it was just dull and cheesy ...
The closest I probably came to nodding off throughout the festival ... :|

I really didn't like the ending, I'd be pretty pissed off if someone set fire to my aunt...

That aunt was the most flammable woman in the whole of cinema. Was she made of paper?

Well made but ultimately a very lame movie that everyone I spoke to ( who didn't sleep through it) thought one of the lowlights of the weekend. Not quite a fantasy movie, not quite a horror movie, not very good. American movie of the week from the mid Eighties vibe.

Poor.

Could have been an effective fairy tale but instead was 3rd rate.

Don't get how the girl went from being American to having an accent as an adult, but that is the least of my complaints about this

Quite like the mysterious wall of smoke type substance. But other than that. Did not do much for me.

** Possible spoilers **

I wanted to like this after choosing this ahead of Guinea Pigs based on the Silent Hill looking trailer, but I was disappointed by the end of it. More of a romance with limited and fairly basic horror on show. The comic book element may appeal to some, but ultimately this was horror-lite. Still, perhaps there is a better movie in there somewhere as some of the ideas were intriguing. 6 / 10
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

I really didn't mind it, it was one of the lighter films at the fest this year (sometimes you need a break from the more gruelling and confrontational, and who wants 26 straight films of absolute pits-of-hell horror in a row?). I'm a sucker for "empty world" movies, though. No real desire to see it again though, but I didn't hate it.
