Frightfest travel

Post by FranksWildYears »

Just thought I'd post for anybody planning on travelling by train that the advance rail tickets for the Thursday and Friday (27th and 28th August) go on sale in the morning, or at least for anybody using the East Coast main line they do. The ones for the following week will be next Friday.

They normally pop up on the website at about 11am :).

Still plenty of decent priced tickets left with Virgin too on West Coast. If coming from Birmingham avoid the trains that start in Scotland as they have less availability on them.

Virgin Ticket Sale started today, some insanely good ticket prices on their routes at the moment.

Just booked my Birmingham - London return for £18.50 :)

Oh for fuck's sake - I bought my return last night...

The £10 I would have saved would have covered the 5% ticket charge...

There are plenty of 5 and 6 quid Funfare tickets now on the National Express site for August 27th - I looked at Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham to London Victoria. I don't know about the return date, but they'd be handy for anybody who doesn't mind splitting the journey to save money.

I managed £8.60 each for advance singles from York, so result :).
