Attack of the Adult Babies

Post by jonbly »

2/10 - Full credit to the editor of the trailer for this, which somehow didn't look like a steaming pile of poo. It's not funny, it's not scary. I guess it might be possible to get drunk enough to enjoy this... might you might die of alcohol poisoning first. We await your experimental results.

Thanks Jonbly for confirming that I didn't miss much. Was debating whether to see this or go for a curry instead - curry won.

To redress the balance slightly... :D

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Forget satire of the British class system, it's basically just nurses in Carry-On style uniform chasing around old fat men in nappies in a scatologically fuelled knockabout. 6/10

I know you have to judge a film on it's merits, but if I'd known from the off that this was a 'fuck it our film's fallen through, let's go and make something cheap for the hell of it with no interference' type film then I would have judged it differently.

It was moderately entertaining to watch, but extremely rough around the edges. The timing of a lot of the jokes was way off in the editing, and the sound recording in the hitmen scene was atrocious. Sally Dexter pitched her performance well given the material.

I really liked Bait and Before Dawn, and I hate to say it, but this reminded me of a slightly less amateurish Zombie Women of Satan.

If Sally Dexter was the one playing the lead nurse they she is the only redeeming thing about this piece of shit.

Agree with jobly that the trailer editor was a master.

I thought I'd see more shit rather than just 80 minutes of shit.

Brunt has done some good stuff, this is far far from it.

Good Lee Hardcastle short before hand however.

And at least I didn't leave angry like I did after Inbred.

But Adult Babies was still shit.

1/10 (for Sally Dexter)

As you've all said, really... I've enjoyed Brunt and Mitchell's previous films and I think it's brilliant that Paddy out of Emmerdale makes horror movies in his spare time.

But I was pretty horrified by how badly this started, with the Russian(?) hitmen and the weird relationship between what appeared to be a brother and sister. It looked dreadful and sounded worse.

I did think it improved a little. The claymation bit was good and I thought the CGI/virtual reality bit was quite funny. But definitely a big disappointment.

I couldn't decide between awful and endearingly awful. At least it made Adam Green coming on afterwards seem like Orson Welles. The actros just stood about entirely lacking direction. A big disappointment after Bait, which was excellent.

Uncreative, purile, not remotely funny or scary, utterly unlikable characters, creepy incest subplot, badly animated claymation and overly long drawn out gags (the intermission and the bike that wouldnt start) that werent funny.

On the plus side, its much less about fetish shaming that I thought it would be and the head nurse character would have been excellent for Michelle Gomez, so im happy she wasnt cast in this trash.

She was his stepsister, so not quite incest. Well, maybe legally, but not by bloodline.

Yeah, It was his stepsister, but we only found that out in one line during the cgi section. Still was a bit cringey, regardless of their relationship.

As a newbie, I found this film to be 100% crap. Absolute rubbish.

And you could infer it from the 'his mum, her dad' in some of the earlier scenes, but I agree with you, it was difficult to surmise in the opening scene where they were discussing what had happened with her knickers. That was when it should have been made clear.
