Not really a giallo as expected, and suffers from slow pacing - so much so that about an hour into it I wondered if anything was going to happen! But the ending redeemed it somewhat and it will be very interesting to see this on a second viewing. The opening was very strong and a classic death scene will stick in the mind. Stylistically it is superb, although occasionally it is in danger of being all style and no substance. Definitely not to all tastes, but a film that stays with you long after the credits have rolled. 8.5 / 10
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

I still think about this on a daily basis. I just can't wait to see it again. Eden Log did this too me as well.

Amer. Everyday since Feburary (where it got it's UK premiere despite what they announced on Twitter) I thought about this film and listened to the theme from Black Tarantula. It just sort of haunts me.

Wow. I REALLY disliked Eden Log, and I'm always fascinated to discover other viewpoints. I know this sounds silly, but sometimes I have such a passionate response to a particular film, I find it difficult to imagine that someone else might feel differently! It's humbling and helpful to be reminded that my opinion isn't the truth (I know this intellectually, of course, but evidence is always useful!

I reviewed it a few years ago. I still would have preferred some more of the monsters but I tend to respond to anti-Hollywood films.

Now I have ordered my blu-ray from Amazon! Not a fan of the cover art though.
