Byzantium Review

Post by Alex J »

After the madness of "Lords of Salem" there was a danger that "Byzantium" could be a little staid, but the story was intriguing enough and the two female leads were sufficiently engaging to stop it becoming dull. A well-made, glossy production and it is good see Neil Jordan working in the genre again. Quite possibly the strongest film of the whole fest for me. 8.5 / 10

P.S. Did anyone catch the reference by who I think was the screenwriter to another novel with a strong female lead that he would be interested in adapting into a film? It was something along the lines of "Berzak" I think.
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.
