BEST film of Discovery Screen
Christopher Roth for me, as it was the only one I saw... plus it wasn't bad!

Amer for me, as it was the only one I saw... and it was brilliant.
I wanted to see Christopher Roth and Burning Bright too, but couldn't get tickets.

Outcast
Only DS films I saw were Outcast, which was great, and Finale, which was absolute rubbish, so Outcast is the clear winner!

BEST film of Discovery Screen
The Clinic was another good film from Australia this fest, but for me it had to be Fanboys total geekasm at all the references, sure I missed a load though. A must buy for me.

Really enjoyed Amer, it smacked slightly of a student film idea but it was shot so well with such beautiful cinematography and the audio was sublime should of been on the main screen. I also saw Christopher Roth which I wanted to like so much but it was poorly executed (felt like only half a film) and Afterlife which wasn't too bad, Liam Neeson was as ever a class act which held the film together. Couldn't get into Fanboys but glad I missed it for Bedevilled and missed Burning Bright due to sleep. Not quite as good as disco screen offerings from last year but it still was not bad.

BEST film of Discovery Screen
AMER has haunted me since Glasgow. Bit of an arty wank off but boy do you remember it. I am fascinated by it in ways that are not normal for a film.

I think it's Burning Bright - I wasn't impressed with the Discovery films that I saw. Those didn't include Amer, which I shall catch when it gets a release.

Amer is good in an interesting way (or is that interesting in a good way?) but as I've already seen that one in Glasgow I skipped it this time around.
I really liked After.Life, and Wound just had that nice freakishness to it.
But seriously, if you've grown up before Episode I like me, there was no helping it, 'Fanboys' just touched all the right strings!
It made me laugh, laugh out loud, laugh my arse off (if anybody's found it, please don't return it, or at least clean it before sending it back to me!)
So yes, best of all DS flicks: Fanboys!
