9/10 - Excellent stuff. Everything felt right about this one.

Don't forget to check under your beds for Alan Jones tonight...

I thought I was having a little trouble engaging with Frightfest this year - the overall standard seems to be lower than in previous years, and I'd seen nothing to rival the 6 or 7 excellent movies that were shown last year.

Then "Sleep Tight" came along. An absolute corker, 10/10.

I've got that Frightfest feeling again :D

For somewhat different reasons, I'd also not quite engaged with Frightfest until Sunday.
This was a real twisted treat.

The lead actor did not occur to me as a hero as suggested in the Q&A, nor an anti-hero, but very much like extending the first 20 mins of the lead (father) in The Woman and looking closely at what really goes on behind the facade of an apparently likeable person. Those scenes where someone is hiding in the house and the victims can't see them are rarely as believable as this was.

So far, the film most likely to be seen by a non-Frightfest audience.

Oh, and good news that he's doing another REC film.

Along with Rec 3 my only other 9/10 of the festival (no 10/10's this year). And the fact it got me on the villains side for a while (as he's trying to get out of her apartment without being caught) was a masterstroke. Then he goes and verbally puts the boot into the old lady with the dogs and I thought "what a @%$#". Excellent.

Great film. The tone change about 2/3 of the way through that pushed him from plain creepy to full on evil b'stard was really effective.

The main character has got to be the most likeable evil bastard I've seen in a long while! One of my favourites, fairly simple plot and the film hardly left the hotel, but it used this to its advance - it was a very nicely compact and contained film. not quite in my top5, but very close.

** spoilers **

A deliciously creepy and superior take on the premise of The Resident, with superb performance by Luis Tosar as the anti-hero. Filled with plenty of suspense and twists and focused on the villain rather than the heroine for a change. Some devilishly humorous moments complemented the more creepy aspects of the story. 9 / 10
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

One of the best for me.

Well acted by all and intelligently put together.

It raises questions in myself (and hopefully everyone else) that you are willing a rapist/stalker to escape and that you hope he does kill a small girl who is blackmailing him, while also wondering if that really is his mother in the hospital.

Really enjoyed this one, at times quite creepy in regards what the main character was doing.

I paid thirteen quid for the soundtrack. Including postage from Spain I think.

By far the best film at this year's Frighfest. It was gripping, had a good story, fantastic performances, a nice bit of gore and a cracking downbeat ending.
