No One Lives
No One Lives
8/10 - lots of fun, although needlessly implausible for a while in the middle. In particular, that trailer clearly has Tardis DNA...
Re: No One Lives
Another one where I found a lot of the dialogue inaudible, and another one where that wasn't a problem watching it at home. Some definite tinkering needed with the Empire's audio system, even if it's just to boost the dialogue track. Great film though, I instantly knew it was going to be a hit at FF, with its creative kills, abject silliness and buckets of blood.

Re: No One Lives
A good slice of cheesy horror nonsense. The main psycho was really cool, and it was a lot of fun watching him. He's pretty much superhuman, but it works in the context of the film. The dialogue is poor: everybody speaks in a very mannered way, but it does include some funny one-liners which balance this aspect out. The ultra-gory scenes played brilliantly, it was great to applaud and laugh with everybody as blood flowed everywhere. Also I thought the main antagonist gets a rather weak death 6/10

I've now enjoyed this twice (before the film, I was thinking, "Yeah I saw that film "Everyone Dies", I wonder if this is a sequel").
Very watchable lead, manages to make jokes without becoming Freddie Kreuger or sequel-based Pinhead.
Some rather good use of the gore, for people who like that sort of thing.

Indestructable cool psycho guy dismembers a bunch of arseholes, not original but great fun. Probably gonna go straight to DVD and be forgotten about, but this was great to watch at FF, killer coming out of the dead guys skin was a particularly awesome scene! 8/10

Re: No One Lives
I thought the basic idea of dimwitted villains taking on an ordinary Joe who turns out to be an unstoppable psycho looked very promising. But it turned out to be a dull, unimaginative, unexciting plod. And that blonde girl really needs to be sent back to Central Casting.
Who'd have thought that Ryuhei Kitamura, who was being touted as a "next big thing" just a few years ago, would make something this pedestrian.
It looked and sounded absolutely bloody awful, too.

Re: No One Lives
A guilty pleasure of a movie, an entertaining thrill-ride with plenty of action and one-liners, and a new anti-hero to boot. Not one to mull over profoundly, but enjoyable while it lasts. 8 / 10
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

Re: No One Lives
Good violent entertainment, though apart from the girl there's really no-one to root for as all the other characters are horrible people. Some great moments though.

Really enjoyed this movie - was entertaining and fun. My son really liked it too. We needed a boost after seeing Hammer of the Gods which I confess to falling asleep in a few times.
Didn't think this was going to be too good from looking at the trailer, but I was totally wrong and Im glad I was.
8 out of 10

Re: No One Lives
Fun, over-the-top disposable pap.
Charismatic lead, Evans looks a lot like Joseph Gordon-Levitt's evil twin.
And as far as I'm concerned his appearance to exact his revenge got the strongest reaction from the audience to any film shown.
Let down by a rather safe ending showdown, but door open for a hopefully equally as daft "sequel".

I'd watch him again.
Good call on the JGL lookalike.
I was thinking he was like a New Man Yuppified version of Dust Devil.
