FrightFest 2021
FrightFest 2021
It's time to get this new thread on the FrightFest 2021 events off and running.
The Cineworld, Leicester Square is reserved for our traditional five days over the August bank holiday weekend and we are activly working towards returning there for the 2021 Festival. And while I'm at it, I'm delighted to confirm that we also have dates for our October Halloween event reserved.
The dates are 26th to 30th of August and the 29th and 30th October. The event will be held in a safe manner and will adhere to whatever the current advice in place in August is.
Film submissions have been excellent and we already have a strong lineup waiting in the wings ready to be unleashed in August.
Clare, Helen, Greg, Alan, Paul and myself all look forward to welcoming FrightFesters back to the Cineworld Leicester Square in August.
Ian.

Re: FrightFest 2021
Just realised my second vaccination date is the Bank Holiday Monday (very curious they're open). It never even crossed my mind, it was one of two dates open for my second appointment, and they seemingly will not let you book a first without a second. I wonder if there'll be a digital component at all this year. Failing that, I wonder if I'll be able to get the second pushed forward.

Re: FrightFest 2021
Cancelling and re-booking is the way forward...for vaccine 2nd dose and also to further ruin hospitality businesses.
I suppose you could take the Andrew Lloyd Webber route and throw a few backhanders and maybe this year's festival can take place as a "test event"
Good luck if one person gets pinged on the app as that would mean the whole thing would be in doubt...if everyone has the app to be pinged by, or HAS to have the app *strokes chin*

Re: FrightFest 2021
We are pleased to release the titles of the first wave of films for 2021. Full details can of course be found over on the FrightFest website on the following link.

It's a good solid lineup for what's been a difficult 15 months or so. We look forward to seeing many of you back at the Cineworld Leicester Square in August.

So what's the story with the 'digital component'?

Re: FrightFest 2021
Right, that's me all registered on the site to buy weekend passes. As I'm buying for 5 people does anyone know if will I be able to get all of the passes without the other four people having to register (as in previous years) or do they all have to have an account as well to link into?
Re: FrightFest 2021
That went well! So easy to buy a pass this year, literally a 5 minute job.

Re: FrightFest 2021
I'm in! And pretty much my first choice seat too, although that was mostly dumb luck while poking blindly at the screen because it wouldn't stop zooming in.
I've spent a fair bit of time in the Cineworld over the last few weeks (their aircon is excellent and it's handy for the Prince Charles) and I'm guessing the first Disco screen will be the one we usually have - do we know which Disco 2 will be?
I'd also assume the day pass holders must be in the Super Screen, which is nothing short of Baltic. Bring your blankets

Great job Ian and team - that’s got to be the smoothest ticket ride we’ve ever had! Got the seat I wanted - all done in under 5 mins

Re: FrightFest 2021
It wouldn't be Frightfest without the first jump-scare being courtesy of the booking process
Not bad at all this year, though the registration process against the clock might be an event at the Olympics soon...
See you all in August!
