After a hugely successful FrightFest at the Cineworld Empire Leicester Square this August, we are thrilled to be returning to such an auspicious venue for our annual sort-of-Halloween, kind-of-Shocktoberfest, all-screaming, all-entrancing Shriek Saturday.

We wont be back again until the end of February in Glasgow, so now’s your final 2018 chance to catch up on all the new genre goodies coming your way in 2019 before that sad period of FrightFest horror hibernation sets in.

November 3rd is the designated day for our shocker six-pack of two World and four UK premieres to make their debut in the dark heart of London’s glittering West End. Team FrightFest know we have a lot to live up to after our universally acclaimed and highly praised eclectic picks for August, so we searched long and hard for the same kind of trenchant, traumatizing and trend-setting movies you’ll be remembering for a long time to come.

The day kicks off with Julian Richards’ latest chiller REBORN, a CARRIE for the Z Generation, starring the First Lady of FrightFest, Barbara Crampton, and featuring a stunning performance from rising newcomer Kayleigh Gilbert. Richards, famous for THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, will be with us for this World Premiere screening.

If you loved Isaac Ezban’s THE INCIDENT or THE SIMILARS, you’re going to absolutely adore his first English language sci-fi fantasy PARALLEL, which he himself describes as “FLATLINERS meets THE SOCIAL NETWORK”. A killer alternate-universe concept, a top-notch cast including Brit-star Georgia King and dazzling direction spells pitch-black spills and thrills in our second attraction of the day.

You’ll definitely keep your eyes wide open for the UK premiere of MARA, Clive Tonge’s intensely tormenting psychological thriller about Sleep Paralysis, This demonic jolter stars the dazzling Olga Kurylenko, with sterling support from Craig Conway. Olga is planning to attend.

FrightFest August saw the World Premiere of Paul Hyett’s HERETIKS and now THE SEASONING HOUSE favourite returns with his latest sci-fi horror fantasy PERIPHERAL also a World Premiere, also starring Hannah Arterton and our fourth major frightener of the day. Concerning a literary sensation struggling to write her second novel thinking she’s controlled by sinister forces, Hyett will also be joining us for this major premiere screening.

The headlining Swedish blockbuster THE UNTHINKABLE unspools subsequently and is about the best disaster movie we’ve seen in ages. Loaded with jaw-dropping action and high emotions, this CLOVERFIELD style epic begins during Midsummer when the whole of Sweden wakes up to a Code Red security warning. Enough said, just start biting those nails!

Last but definitely not least, comes the Onetti Brothers’ ABRAKADABRA, the completion of their fantastic giallo trilogy after SONNO PROFONDO and FRANCESCA. Complete with film stock grain, a trippy SUSPIRIA colour scheme, blood-spattered faces and black-gloved maniacs, this homage to all things 1970s Italian genre will send you out to the night tube looking over your shoulder.

It’s going to be a fantastic day, meeting old friends, making new ones, hosted by the FrightFest dream team and some other special guests we’ll tell you more about nearer the time..
